As a newly married couple joining this marriage caravan a bit later than many of our friends, we find that we have to qualify any "Exciting news!" statement with "It's not about a baby." There's a certain expectation, you know. Both of us 30 years old, been married over a year, it's prime baby time. But much to the chagrin of my father-in-law, who maintains the record for asking about it most often, we're not quite ready for babies. Not yet. First: Thailand.
Justin has been selected to a legal fellowship with International Justice Mission at their field office in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The fellowship lasts 12 months and starts in June. That's right, you heard me; June. As in three months away. We're still ironing out a lot of details, but the preparations have begun. Started packing up the apartment, drafted a fundraising letter--the position is unpaid, so we'll be raising our support for the year--gave notice to our current jobs, and began investigating places to live when we arrive in Chiang Mai. And a lot more 'to do' items in a short amount of time. We appreciate your prayers and support as we get ready to leave.
Follow us on the blog! We promise to post often.
Yay!! Can't wait to hear all of the great stories that come out of this next step. Praying for you both!!
