Fundraising

There never seems to be an easy or diplomatic way to start this, so I'll just come out and say it:

We really need your donations.

Both IJM and Grace fill an important need in Chiang Mai. Part of the way they are able to offer all the services they do is by requiring "employees" (aka volunteers) to raise their own financial support. The great thing about Thailand is that it's really cheap to live there. Our budget for the year is just under $26,000. Some of those expenses are one-time, like the cost of plane tickets, visas and immunizations. Others are ongoing, like money for rent, groceries and health insurance. All in all, it's not a bad deal for a year in our life, but we can't afford to do it on our own. We need your help. Every little bit counts; it all adds up.

We know that times are tough, and we won't love or appreciate you any less if you just can't afford to give right now. But small gifts are valuable, too. Think of the widow and her two mites. If you feel compelled to give but aren't sure you can afford it all at once, that's okay. $5, $10, or $20 a month for a couple of months will go a long way for us in Thailand.

There are two ways you can give, both of which are tax deductible (to the full extent of the law--My lawyer husband makes me say that):
To CitySquare
Go to: www.citysq.org
Click on the blue "Donate Now" button in the top right hand corner

Under "Programs to choose from" choose "LAW Fellowship"

Choose Justin Schneider in the Intern/Fellow box
Enter your amount, frequency, and billing information
If you'd rather donate by check, let us know and we'll send you a self-addressed, stamped envelope that you can mail back to CitySquare.

If you'd like more information about the breakdown of our finances for the year, please ask. We are happy to share. Any money we raise beyond what we need to live for the year will be donated to the general fund at either CitySquare or IJM, respectively. Both organizations do much-needed work. Visit their websites to learn more about it.
