The Next Step: Justin has a full-time job (almost)

It's certainly been awhile since either of us last updated you on the blog.  To be honest, there wasn't much to update.

However, as of yesterday, I, Justin, accepted a position with International Studies Abroad (ISA), one of the largest providers of study abroad programs to college students. It combines my passion for expanding the world of each student, creating innovative approaches to new issues, and using my very expensive law degree.  Plus, the main office is located in a great area in South Austin.

My position currently doesn't have a title, but it will include acting as a sort of general counsel; partnering with the Association of Global Universities (AGU), an entity within ISA; identifying and preparing grant proposals and fundraising; and being the crisis management point person.  Also, the most important area: other duties as assigned.

The most exciting part of this job is that it is a strange hybrid, and none of us know if it will work. It's also the scariest.

Thank you to each of you for your prayers and support during this time.  And a huge thanks to Laura Tardif, an old Pepperdine friend, who offered her support even as she struggled with serious health concerns.  She has truly helped me understanding what it means to be humble and the joy that comes from helping others even in your own times of weakness.

I'll begin the job on May 1st.  Until then, I will continue my part-time job at Spec's, while learning as much as possible about this new field I'm entering.  Angela will continue at the speech therapy clinic she's been at since December.  We'll also keep our homebase at the family "compound" in Round Rock until further notice.
